Founded in 1937, Ducks Unlimited is the world’s largest private, non-profit waterfowl and wetlands organization with more than one million supporters in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Since its inception, DU has restored or enhanced more than 12 million acres of North American wetlands. DU protects key nesting, migration and wintering areas for waterfowl and waterfowl hunters across North America, proudly spending 86% of every dollar raised on conservation.
Working with DU, Budweiser has helped the organization protect native grassland habitats in North Dakota, acquire conservation easements in the lower Mississippi Valley, establish duck habitats in Louisiana and Texas, and introduce a whole new generation to the outdoors.
Currently, DU has an ambitious objective to raise $1.7 billion by 2010 for their “Wetlands for Tomorrow” initiative to restore North America’s wetlands, grasslands and waterfowl. Wetlands conservation is critical for protecting native species and natural habitats for future generations.
As part of their ongoing efforts to protect the environment and the world around us, Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch wholesalers from around the country are working together on a plan to contribute $2 million in support of the “Wetlands for Tomorrow” campaign.
