Living Lands and Waters
Living Lands & Waters (LL&W), founded by Chad Pregracke in 1998 as a one-man operation, is headquartered in East Moline, Ill. Today, Pregracke and his crew of nine work full-time cleaning the Mississippi, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Anacostia and Potomac rivers from their house-barge. In addition, LL&W plants trees to stabilize shorelines, runs the Adopt-a-Mississippi Mile program and conducts workshops that educate people about the importance of keeping the river system clean.

Anheuser-Busch has sponsored Chad Pregracke and LL&W since 1999. As part of the sponsorship, the LL&W crew visits St. Louis every year to host a cleanup for Anheuser-Busch employees on the banks of the Mississippi River near the Gateway Arch. At the 2007 River Cleanup and Downtown Beautification event, more than 300 St. Louis Anheuser-Busch employees and their families joined forces with LL&W and 15 local environmental and civic groups to clean up the Mississippi riverfront and beautify the Arch grounds.
