August 25, 2006

Bud Light and Major League Lacrosse will make league history on Aug. 25 with the first-ever live webcast of the New Balance Championship Weekend MLL Semifinals from the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The semifinal games featuring the Denver Outlaws vs. the San Francisco Dragons and the Philadelphia Barrage vs. the Boston Cannons will be broadcast in full television quality at www.budlight.com.

“Once again Anheuser-Busch proves to be on the cutting edge of sports technology, and we are proud to partner with them in webcasting the 2006 Major League Lacrosse Semifinals for the first time,” said MLL Founder Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Global. “I know the production will be first class and I’m thrilled that fans around the world will be able to watch the games via the Web!”

The webcast is being produced by Anheuser-Busch’s Bud Productions group and directed by Chris Lincoln, director for this year’s ESPN-televised MLL Championship Game. Veteran play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati and four-time lacrosse All-American Quint Kessenich will call the action during the webcast, which starts at 9 p.m. EST with the No. 1 seeded Outlaws vs. the Dragons. The Barrage take on the Cannons at approximately 11:45 p.m. EST. ESPN is co-promoting the webcast with a link on www.espn.com. The MLL Championship Game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. EST on Aug. 27, with hosts Beninati and Kessenich.
